The course was organised to introduce to participants economic terms as producer surplus, consumer surplus, marginal analysis as well as knowledge on economic analyses tools on technology impact assessment as PBA, EIA, and CBA.
The content of the training course was covering the basic knowledge of economic analyses on impact assessment of new technologies in agricultural areas such as (1) simple economic analysis tools as Partial Budgeting Analysis (PBA) and Economic Inefficiency Analysis (EIA), (2) Survey Methods and Data Generation for Technology Assessment, and (3) Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA). In addition, an introduction of DREAM application for economic analysis of technology impact assessment will be made in the workshop.

This is also to help the trainees know how to use the DREAM (Dynamic Research Evaluation for Management) software for technology impact assessment which is important part in any project implementation and evaluation.
The resource person is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thanh Danh (CTU), the expert in social and economics, the dean of School of Economics and Business Administration, Can Tho University.
Professor Le Quang Tri, National Project Director, remarked on his opening speech that building capacity through such training course is very important for the project as well as for CTU and Vietnam. The course was organized by Theme 4 of the CLUES Project at the Hall of CLUES project in Can Tho University.
