On March 10, 2022, the Cooperation Signing Ceremony between Can Tho City Union of Friendship Organizations, Friedrich Naumann Stiftung Für Die Freiheit Vietnam (FNF), and Can Tho University took place at the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations Hall.
Overview of the signing ceremony
Accordingly, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding to implement programs and projects promoting sustainable urban development and environmental protection in Can Tho City taking the initiative to adapt and mitigate climate change problems through ecosystem conservation action. Furthermore, the representative of the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations stated her hope that via the signing, programs may enhance solidarity and friendship between the people of Can Tho and the German people, encouraging the connection of businesses in Can Tho and enterprises in Germany in order to exchange investment opportunities and cooperation and introducing NGOs in Germany to learn about Can Tho's social security operations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Dr. Van Pham Dang Tri presented the program that will collaborate between the Research Institute for Climate Change (DRAGON-Mekong Institute), Can Tho University, and the FNF Institute through the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations to implement the project "Promoting development sustainable cities and environmental protection”.
Can Tho's Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee believes that Can Tho University will continue to work with the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations and the FNF/German Institute on project activities as a result of this Memorandum of Understanding, promoting scientific research and commercial activities between Can Tho City and overseas partners, contributing to the promotion of international friendship, as well as the economic development of the city's community and the strong growth of Can Tho University.
