Global Resilient Cities Network (GRCN) organized the online workshop “Framing Session solid waste management in Can Tho city” in the Urban Ocean program, at the Hall of the DRAGON – Mekong Institute.
The workshop attracted key experts from local agencies and academic institutions in the waste management field in Can Tho city. In the agenda of the workshop, the participants listened to presentations relating to waste management and discussed priority opportunities in developing solid waste management in Can Tho city.

On April 7, 2022, the Dutch Embassy, represented by Mr. Laurent Umans, First Secretary of Water Management and Climate Change at the Dutch Embassy in Vietnam, organized the Practical Activities of the press delegation to visit and work at the Research Institute for Climate Change (DRAGON-Mekong Institute), the delegation and the Institute exchanged information on issues related to climate change in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta (VMD) as well as promoting community-oriented communication activities to enhance the influence and effectiveness of scientific research on related people and parties
Assoc. Prof. Van Pham Dang Tri gave the opening speech of the meeting, introducing a brief overview of DRAGON-Mekong institute, challenges and problems in the VMD. In recent years, the Dutch Embassy has had many research cooperation programs with CTU and especially climate change response programs in the VMD with the DRAGON-Mekong Institute.

During the meeting, representatives of the press delegation from Ho Chi Minh City Television, Tuoi Tre newspaper, Tien Phong newspaper had a discussion on issues of strengthening the communication of scientific research, bringing scientific information from the studies to interested individuals and organizations as well as readers in an easy way and be more accessible. The press and the Institute have proposed a number of ideas and solutions to strengthen the link between scientists - journalists - the community to realize the results from scientific research to practical application.

Mr. Laurent Umans also shared about the projects that have been and are looking forward to cooperating in the VMD with Can Tho University and DRAGON-Mekong Institute.

On January 12, 2021, at the Research Institute for Climate Change (DRAGON-Mekong Institute-CTU), the Board of Director and staffs welcomed delegates from the Research Institute for Development, France led by Dr. Alexis Drogoul.
During the meeting, many concerns about climate adaptation and sustainable development in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta (VMD) have been discussed. The meeting opens up various potential cooperation opportunities between the two parties.

On November 17th, 2020, the delegation of the US General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh city paid a visit to the Research Institute for Climate Change (DRAGON-Mekong Institute-CTU.
Working with the delegation were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung, Director and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Anh Tuan, Vice Director together with Institute’s staffs.
At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hieu Trung, sent a warm welcome to the delegation of the US General Consulate. The Director also shared overview information on scientific research activities of the University especially in the cooperation relationship with US partners.
Mr. Robert J. Greenant, Vice Director of the US General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh city also expressed delight and appreciation for the Institute's efforts and results of cooperation with the US agencies, organizations, institutes and universities, and hoped that this good cooperation relationship will be maintained and strengthened for further development.
