The meeting started by introduction of Can Tho University to the representative of Twente University of The Netherlands about the Mekong 1000 project targeting at training human resources for development of the Mekong delta region.
During the workshop, all participants have taken part in discussion sessions to look for possible cooperation in national, regional policies that could help to have action or cope with climate change; to find out best ways of collaboration and practices on climate change research; to search for ideas of expansion and multiplication of existing research as well as development of adaptation options; to identify knowledge of integration of climate change adaptation into urban sustainable development plan.
How is the climate changing? What are the societal impacts? What is the rate of change? To answer such questions and discuss many more, researchers, policy makers and private sector representatives met recently at an International Workshop on Climate Change.
AIT Center in Viet Nam (AITCV) and DRAGON institute – Mekong – CTU had co-organized the Seminar cum Study Tour for 8 Bangladesh officers of the Ministry of Local Government, Engineering Department of the Government of Bangladesh on the topic "Impact of Environment and Climate Change on Rural Infrastructure" on 31 March 2009 in CanTho City, Viet Nam.
