On December 23rd, 2016, at the hall of College of Environmental and Natural Resources of Can Tho University (CTU) took place the Third Workshop of SUMERNET, “Robust Decision Support (RDS) Framework for Urban Water Management in the Context of Changing Water Resources”. It is one of the main activities of Sustainable Mekong Research Network program (SUMERNET), was organized in cooperation between Research Institute for Climate Change, CTU (DRAGON Institute – Mekong), CENRES and the Can Tho Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO).

The workshop has been received the attention from representative of agency in Can Tho City and the staff of DRAGON Institute-Mekong as well as CENRES, CTU.

The workshop has main targets, first sharing information on the outcomes of the SUMERNET program, and then creating a discussion forum for local stakeholders in urban water management. Paticularly, the results of Robust Decision Support (RDS) Framework have been presented for all participants and agencies relating to municipal water management in Can Tho city.
By this workshop, the participants also evaluated on the possibility of the application of RDS into local reality. Thereby, it has not only contributed for the enhancement of building capability for stakeholders, but also for developing and expanding a stakeholder network in Can Tho city to identify and improve the potential cooperation and management capacity in effective urban water management in the context of increasing uncertainty in water resources due to climate change and the city on demand in in the future.
