On February 25, 2022, at the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the Research Institute for Climate Change (DRAGON-Mekong Institute) from Can Tho University met with the US delegation led by Mr. John Kerry - U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, Mr. Marc Knapper - US Ambassador to Vietnam and Ms. Marie C. Damour - US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Van Pham Dang Tri, Director of DRAGON-Mekong Institute, expressed his honor to attend the meeting and shared about the impacts of climate change in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta and the crucial role of DRAGON-Mekong Institute in climate change adaptation in the region. SPEC Kerry also shared his focus on identifying challenges and opportunities for achieving climate goals in the Mekong Basin. Through this meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Van Pham Dang Tri expressed the necessity for cooperation with and support by the US government in developing the DRAGON-Mekong Institute into an internationally-recognized hub of climate change research.
