As requested by the Netherlands Embassy in Vietnam, on August 8, 2022, the chairman of the expert panel from the Institute of Agriculture Market and Institution Research (AMI) of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture visited and consulted with specialists from the DRAGON-Mekong Institute, Can Tho University (CTU). Consultations related to the sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta  (VMD). The meeting was attended by Dr. Dang Kim Son, AMI representative, and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Hieu Trung, Vice Rector of the CTU, and other staff and experts of the school attended.

The specialists discussed the status, issues, and potential solutions to ensure that the VMD's agriculture is transformed in a sustainable manner and achieves high economic value, helping to improve the quality of life for those who live there. The workshop also included the discussion of concepts and options for enhancing the agricultural transformation of the VMD. At the meeting, initiatives aiming at fostering interactions between scientists, managers, enterprises, and farmers in particular, as well as collaboration between domestic scientists and scientists in the Netherlands, were openly and actively debated.
