
On December 23rd, 2016, at the hall of College of Environmental and Natural Resources of Can Tho University (CTU) took place the Third Workshop of SUMERNET, “Robust Decision Support (RDS) Framework for Urban Water Management in the Context of Changing Water Resources”. It is one of the main activities of Sustainable Mekong Research Network program (SUMERNET), was organized in cooperation between Research Institute for Climate Change, CTU (DRAGON Institute – Mekong), CENRES and the Can Tho Climate Change Coordination Office (CCCO).
On two days of July 03 and 04, 2017, Can Tho University (CTU) collaborated Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia, and Sustainable Mekong Research Network (SUMERNET) to hold a workshop on Drought and Water Scarcity in the Lancang-Mekong Basin: Uncertainty, Impacts and Opportunities. The workshop attracted over 50 attendants from Vietnam, Australia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and China.

On April 22nd and 23rd, 2016, Can Tho University (CTU) coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City Peace and Development Foundation, Tri Viet Center for Social and Educational Studies organized a conference on Sustainable Uses of the Mekong Water Resources. It was attended by national and international experts, scholars and researchers from Norway, the US, France, China, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia; representatives of local and international social and non-governmental organizations, research institutes, universities and businesses in the country.

On March, 3rd 2016, the Scientific workshop on “Impacts of upstream constructions on the Mekong River” was held at Can Tho University. The workshop has main targets, first providing information on the report of hydropower construction impacts assessment on the Mekong River (IRA-MDS) and then creating a discussion forum for local stakeholders at the Vietnamese Mekong Delta (VMD).
