On April 7, 2022, the Dutch Embassy, represented by Mr. Laurent Umans, First Secretary of Water Management and Climate Change at the Dutch Embassy in Vietnam, organized the Practical Activities of the press delegation to visit and work at the Research Institute for Climate Change (DRAGON-Mekong Institute), the delegation and the Institute exchanged information on issues related to climate change in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta (VMD) as well as promoting community-oriented communication activities to enhance the influence and effectiveness of scientific research on related people and parties
Assoc. Prof. Van Pham Dang Tri gave the opening speech of the meeting, introducing a brief overview of DRAGON-Mekong institute, challenges and problems in the VMD. In recent years, the Dutch Embassy has had many research cooperation programs with CTU and especially climate change response programs in the VMD with the DRAGON-Mekong Institute.

During the meeting, representatives of the press delegation from Ho Chi Minh City Television, Tuoi Tre newspaper, Tien Phong newspaper had a discussion on issues of strengthening the communication of scientific research, bringing scientific information from the studies to interested individuals and organizations as well as readers in an easy way and be more accessible. The press and the Institute have proposed a number of ideas and solutions to strengthen the link between scientists - journalists - the community to realize the results from scientific research to practical application.
