On August 25, 2022, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thinh, Seoul National University – Korea, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hoai Nam and the delegation of Vietnam Academy for Water Resources (VAWR) visited and worked at the Research Institute of Climate Change (DRAGON-Mekong), Can Tho University. The meeting was also attended by the Institute’s Director – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Van Pham Dang Tri and some members of the Institute.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thinh shared the results of digital model development in the field of water resources, irrigation, and environment at different scales. This model has been applied in many different basins around the world, including Vietnam.

 

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Thinh presented some results of model application in the field of water resources.

The parties shared and discussed information on the field of water resources, water-related databases as well as issues of the Vietnamese Mekong Delta and Mekong river basin. Thereby, opening up potential opportunities for cooperation between the parties to promote the sustainable development of the region in the context of changing water resources and the region's climate.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Thinh with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Hoai Nam highly appreciated the potential cooperation between Seoul National University, VAWR, and DRAGON-Mekong in further research and educational activities.
